The fascinating visit to FM Radio Station 5MBS, 99.9 MHz, in October was conducted by John Ingham, a member of the management committee at the station.

5MBS looks and operates like any other radio station in a highly professional manner. The only significant difference from most other radio stations is that it is staffed entirely by volunteers. Most of the operation is live-to-air during the day while over-night the programs are digitally pre-recorded. The digital editor of choice is CoolEdit/Audition. The station draws on its large library of CDs and some internet material for program sources.
